PostSubject: Balance Tutorial   Fri 30 Oct 2009 - 6:01

Balance is very important when working with realism. Of course

-This tutorial is only for stationary balance.
-A stickman's center of balance is NOT THE BASE NODE.

The center of balance is signified with a green vertical line. Vertical, because gravity goes that way.

(may not be accurate)

To have balance (stationary,) use two feet (or other limbs:) one to each side of the green line.

Example of what's right:

Example of what's wrong:

This tutorial is very short, shorter than i expected. It's simple and important.

wow asot nice tutorial but it sucks that i quit pivot so i am not able to well use this advise/tutorial in one of my animations but unlike some tuts i really understood this one. Probably cause i am noob and to lazy to read really long post on tuts. yes it is important and this is what i lacked in my animations if i knew about this technique when i used to pivot they might of been some what better. a very good short tutorial. i give this 5 out 5 Very Happy Very Happy

Very nice. Carefully explained just one question. On the "This is right" or something and the "This is not right", to say the truth I didn't see much difference.

Check the feet. They're the only difference.

Ah! Right! Now! It seems really good! Well much better Wink I think you should write "Look at the feet's."

After looking at the tutorial you should already be looking at the feets.

So simple, so obvious, yet so overlooked. I honestly never even thought of this. Very nice tut, +rep'd.

I know it's just kinda common sense, but is there any way to know for sure exactly where the center of gravity is?

Well after all it is just pivot and there are some things in realism that we should not worry about!
